Indoor shades · Custom made
Roller shades.
Clean by design.
Choose the light control, fabric, finish, operation and mount that fit your room—then buy through DIY Direct or let our VIP team handle the details.
Simple form. Flexible function.
One clean shade.
Hundreds of looks.
Roller shades use a single panel of fabric that rolls neatly into the headrail. Their minimal profile works especially well in contemporary Arizona homes and leaves the focus on the room, the view and the architecture.
Start by deciding how much light you want to control. From there, choose your color, texture, control type and finished top treatment. Product availability varies by collection and opening size.

Configure the shade
Make the choices
in the right order.
Light filtering
Softens daylight and reduces glare while keeping the room bright. Privacy varies by fabric.
Room darkening
Reduces incoming light for media rooms, bedrooms and spaces that need stronger control.
Blackout
Uses opaque fabric for maximum light blockage. Side-light gaps depend on mount and hardware.
Solar fabric
Helps manage glare and heat while preserving a daytime view through the shade.
Manual control
Choose an available cordless or continuous-loop system based on shade size and collection.
Motorization
Add remote, app or compatible smart-home control where supported by the selected motor.

A useful first decision
Preserve the view
or block the light?
Solar and light-filtering fabrics are designed to manage brightness without making a room feel closed in. Room-darkening and blackout fabrics prioritize stronger light control and privacy.
For rooms that need both, ask about dual-shade configurations that pair two fabrics at one opening.
DIY measurement preview
Measure carefully.
Approve confidently.
Your final product-specific guide will walk you through each dimension. These are the decisions you should understand before starting.
- 01
Choose the mount
Inside mounts sit within the opening. Outside mounts cover the opening and can improve light coverage.
- 02
Check the opening
Confirm there is adequate depth and look for handles, trim or obstructions that could affect placement.
- 03
Record every opening
Measure each window individually and label its room and location. Similar-looking windows may not be identical.
- 04
Review the approval drawing
Compare the submitted dimensions, mount and product details against the actual opening before approving production.
Roller shade questions
Know before
you configure.
Can roller shades be motorized?
Yes. Motorization is available in many collections, with control options depending on the selected motor, shade size and available power.
Do blackout shades eliminate every light gap?
Blackout fabric blocks light through the material, but light can still enter around the edges. Mounting choice and optional side-channel systems affect total coverage.
Can I install roller shades myself?
Yes. Roller shades are available through DIY Direct. You can also request paid handyman installation or choose VIP Full Service.
When does my order enter production?
Only after the required selections, measurements and approval drawings have been reviewed and approved.
